Final Four Failure

Duke is out of the tournament this year. And yes, it took me this long to be able to state the previous sentence without a stream of tears running down my face. All jokes aside, I was a bit devastated that my beloved Blue Devils didn't even make the elite 8 this year. Alas, we will have to wait until a couple years from now when Curry and Irving are mature and the Plumlee Three are dynamic to dominate the tournament.

Since, my team is out I can focus my attention to other teams, who knew they were out there. As a Duke fan it is redundant for me to stress my hatred for North Carolina as anyone aware of basketball is aware of our intense rivalry. This rivalry is personal for me since my own mother is a Tar Heel fan. I am positive I must have been adopted and I am still awaiting the results of our blood tests. RJ (best friend for life) also feels this bitter betrayal by his own love and girlfriend, Tiffany. I am trying to like her in spite of her one blatant flaw, her love for a pathetic team. It is this intense hatred for Roy Williams and his team that led me to support another team that puts a funny taste in my mouth, Kentucky.

At least Calipari and his Wildcats chose a proper color of blue to don. I rooted for them against Ohio State because the Buckeyes win too often and as a recipient of hatred, based on winning records, I am qualified to dish out hatred for the same reason. After Ohio State's demise, I gladly rooted for Kentucky to embarrass the girliest looking blue I have ever seen. Now with only 4 teams remaining my temporary loyalty to Kentucky is holding true.

Butler I root to fail because of how close they came to snagging our Championship from us in last year's tournament and on principal alone they must go down. However, I abhor VCU due to their debasing victory over my Blue Devils in 2007. Their win was the reason that for the first time since 1996 my glorious team did not make it out of the first round action of the tourney. So I must pick Butler because I despise them a little bit less than the Rams.

UConn I could care less about one way or the other so I am picking Kentucky to defeat them. After Kentucky bypasses Kemba Walker and his Huskies they will move onto Butler and hopefully beat them as well. So this tournament has gone from one of hope to a lesser of evils sorts. As much as I don't want Burris and Bubster (best f'n friends for life) to have a victory and obtain their 8th Championship (giving them 5 more than Duke), I hate Butler more. Also, Burris has supported a losing franchise (The Cubs) for his entire life and deserves for one of his teams to do well.

At least I still have the Lakers to carry out my dreams of a ring this year. I am hopeful that we can three-peat! We have the talent as long as each member of our team steps up during the post season. My only worry is Gasol because he is a weak finisher during play-offs and I do not like having him play such an integral role on our squad. Kobe is fired up and I have seen the rat face more frequently as the season progresses, which is always a good sign. Phil should round off his career with an even 12 rings and my boo needs to start his ring collection on his other hand now. Oh basketball, how I love thee!

  1. What?! Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats?!? The guy who left Massachusetts with a crap issue at UMASS, when in 1996 the NCAA vacated their 4-1 record in tournament games because Marcus Camby had been given money. Hmm, and what about when he left my precious Blue? We lost everything, even our #1 recruiting class. I'm still sick from the fallout of the whole thing, but its the guy not Kentucky that I don't like. Yeah, I was pretty bummed out when Wisconsin lost. At first I was like "well there's still Duke, the other best blue." Arizona? you serious, What was that all about when Jamelle Horne practically walked into the paint and slammed one? No one was guarding him. I was like someone please take a charge and commit. This year is worse than when Memphis went to the National Invitation Tournament and lost to Ol' Miss. On a high note in college ball Will Barton says he is coming back for another run hopefully all will follow and with Josh Pastner's uncanny ability to recruit will be more than just preseason talk. We'll be number one in the polls, winning! Naw, just playing.

I can't even watch Boston right now, losing to the Pacers come on. But not all hope is lost. How about Ray Allen with the NBA record for three pointers made bow chicka wow wow 2,604 big ones in the bucket. I really hope they can take the East Coast and ultimatley square of with your Lakers again. The oldest rivalry in all of basketball, all of sports. A legendary battle of Legends, good and evil(The Lakers), basically the balance of the universe. So yeah baby number 18 coming home this year, man we're stating to look like the Duggers, with all these banners bow chicka wow wow. We got about 9 games till playoffs so get yo smack talk ready cause the Celtics gonna make you run home crying to your mommy (most likely it'll be me doing the running and crying). Overall I don't care who wins the NCAA national championship just glad the ugly Ohio Nut-headed mascot didn't make it, and good luck to the Lakers getting to the chamionship even if the old men don't make it I'll root for the Lakers. I'd just like the possibility of the Laker Celtic championship game. Thanks.

  2. Don't bring up Arizona...it still pains me a little and when I close my eyes I see that wide open slam on repeat. It's like at half-time Coach K went Men in Black on our team and erased any recollection they ever had of how to play defense.

I would love another Celtics/Lakers final because it's exciting and as long as the Spurs don't make it anywhere near the final I'll be content. They are by far the most boring team to watch play in the league. I think the old men have the potential to make it and I don't cry so lucky for me my team will be victorious.

I'll be studying my thesaurus to prep for the most well rounded and intelligent smack talk I've ever brought. And the Lakers new show (besides Khloe and Lamar) will be aptly titled 17 rings and counting after our three peat is complete!

BTW: I thoroughly enjoy your over abundant usage of bow chicka wow wow.

  4. Man I really can't talk much good about the Celtics because we have so much to lose. We really can't afford to lose games now as playoffs are getting closer. Our team would have been really great if Perkins would have stayed here in Boston. We would've been lightning, but I guess He likes the boom of lightning instead, oh well. I just hope that we can locate that aura of intimidation before playoffs. My Celtics are hounded by time; every moment that passes brings them closer to the end of this era. Maybe we can pull one more in before its all over. Oh yeah Lakers play Mavs tonight. The team with the best road record. I think that Mark Cuban is really wanting to squash the Minnesota Lakers streak. Just hope that Pau Gasol doesn't build a house with all those bricks that are being shipped in tonight.
Oh lord you got Joey Crawford to ref your game its gonna be murder bom bom bom. We got Dan Crawford. Wish we could switch refs so that Ol' Joey can give Duncan some trouble and ya'll Dan cause obviously he doesn't like the Mavs. Beat L.A. Just playing. Oh well good luck.

  5. Going to watch the game tonight? I think Uconn is taking home the Championship title, no arguement about it. This isn't even gonna be a game. Right now Kemba is in Beast mode and he is going to walk all over the Butler Bulldogs. I don't really like the Butler team I think that they just look plain ugly as a team. On the other hand I don't care who wins I'm just gonna enjoy the game and chill.

Oh, yeah what happened to Lakers losing thier streak to the chicken Nuggets. What was that 17 games? Boston wasn't showing their game face though during the Atlanta game. Its that old age and our joints cracking. We lose one we win one I wish we could get a streak going. Most likley we will unleash the luck of the shamrock during the playoffs start and win big at the championship after showing the Lakers that it takes a true legends to lift 18 banners, Boo yeah. Once we get that number 18 we plan on making a quilt out of all the banners and snuggling up to the shiny Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy. Her names gonna be Bethany bow chicka wow wow and ever time we get a little closer it gets so bright we gotta wear those big shades to protect ourselves from our uv rays bouncing off her and hitting us in the eye.

    Favorite qoute: "Beat L.A."
    Good luck to your team.

  6. Haha I just read all your posts and laugh so much! I don't get notifications when people comment on here so I only see posts when I check back which is why I have ignored your last two comments. I haven't been watching the Lakers play lately. Caught the Finals game and read a book through most of it due to how dull of a game it was. I could care less about either team, but I'm glad that Butler lost.

As for pro I will get interested again once the post season begins. I just get a little tuckered out watching the incessant amount of games during March and need a break to refresh my passion so I can fully support my team during the playoffs! We got Golden State tonight and hopefully we pull out a win. Hope your Celtics prevail for the rest of their games. They don't need Perkins when Shaquille is such a force still lol.

  7. What's up Fresh! Can't be here long I got Physics test tomorrow a lot of Calc based formulas, yikes. Sorry about Lakers losing to the Warriors only saw the Highlights, but very glad the Heat lost to the Bucks from the land of my father. Puts us back at el numero dos yeah baby yeah. Hopefully will get up to number one (fingers crossed). Don't have to hate the Lakers till Championship game. So until then I guess maybe I'll root for them just till the old basketball vets face-off with the flashy young gunzs. peace-out.

  9. Geez Louise, what's up with the Lakers? five loses in a row. They must be slacking off before the playoffs or playing it smart by conserving their energy. I dunno but whatever's going on hope it works out for them. Celtics still hanging in there. We barely got a pulse, but its an old strong stubborn heart that refurses to die. Just hope the doc doesn't put us on life support before then. On the downside of things for the Celtics I really think this is going to be the end of another era for us. Yeah, we got Rondo and a few other young guys but were fading fast to the younger young guns like Chicago and make no doubt about Miami they will eventually take the East over once they find their rythem. But I'll be there like any other die-hard Celtic through the good times and yeah even the ugly. It's raining right now and I am sitting here with wet cold socks since Calc and I need a new pair of warm ones so catch you on the flip side.

  10. I am not in school right now but I start this summer. I'm getting my master's in education and my teaching license! I'm a night owl so that's why all my posts are late or later b/c I try not to be too productive before 10am if I can help it haha

Boo the Lakers last few games. We are definitely conserving all energy for the playoffs...at least that's what we better be doing or else our run will be very short lived. I haven't caught a game on tv in a while and I am missing seeing that beautiful purple and gold. I just get the depressing score updates to my phone to tell me that we lost yet again.

Wet socks are a bummer. This weather is depressing. I was looking forward to running all day and then of course it starts raining the second I have a moment. Hopefully it will pass quickly and that glorious sunny weather will be back.

  11. Wow, like all the pretty girls want to become teachers, but not the math or history ones. They all seem to want to teach english or something that focuses around the idea of being creative like art or drama. I just hope that it isn't a math teacher that you want to become cause they turn into mean beans after a couple of years. Kinda like my sixth grade math teacher Mrs. H, I think she hates kids and she seems like she could be dangerous. One time my brother saw her leaving school and she hit a bicyclist then drove off. WHAT!? He wasn't hurt just shook up, and I don't think that she meant to but then again maybe she did, hmm? I didn't ride that way like I used to on my road bike for a while so yeah I watch out for her ever now an then. Right now I'm going for my Bachelors in Computer Science, there is just an ungodly amount of calculus I don't even think I can take it anymore. Everyone wants me to stay in school until I finish my master's, but I dunno. I got other plans to put my name out there. I believe I tried to explain it in the older posts somewhere, but I keep jumping from one thing to another that it makes me seem like I'm confusing and can't make my mind up. But I've been slacking in school lately thinking about it and I believe that I have finally made up my mind and I going to stick with it this time. I've talked a little about it with others but they think its a waste and way to difficult for anyone ordinary to attempt. But you gotta be ordinary to become extraordinary, right? I plan on setting the Guinness world record as the fastest person to circumnavigate the planet using only human power. Now I know that it is a bold and of course a dangerous thing to do, but I've rolled it around in my head many times until I made sure I wanted to do this. I went from sailboat escapade to potential circumnavigation record-holder, whew. I know my parents would never approve of such a thing, but who cares. I have three years to plan and prepare. Oh, and if you are thinking about how I am going to get across the oceans you can't use a sailboat so that means ocean-going rowboat and yeah its been done before. And money, well I can't use the other 16 grand thats gone, but I can use sponsorships. Seems they will put thier logo on anything to get the product out there. Its a ways off so you don't have to check the news for a crazy white guy attempts to set record comes up short because he is whining and being a nancy. Besides all this hullabaloo, I think you would make a wonderful teacher whatever you want to teach. Just promise you don't become that evil old hag that no one likes. Be that teacher that everyone remembers and makes a difference in their lives. I know I got a few.
So good luck with the Master's and I hope you become a great teacher.
The sun is shining gotta go.

  12. Okay, so I tried commenting back earlier and it deleted the 3 paragraphs I wrote and pissed me off...so I waited until I was in the mood to type again haha.

Thank you for the compliment :D I am never going to be an old hag or mean teacher b/c I'm too cool for that. Also, I love kids and I'm getting certified K-6 and hopefully teaching 2nd grade so I will love my job!

I had a mean math teacher named Wanda that hated my guts. I used to sneak out of her classroom a few minutes early so I could get a good spot in line for lunch. Literally 8 other people (all guys) did this everyday too and I was the only one she would hunt down and drag back to class. Turkey Day is a HUGE deal at my high school and I got first in line on freakin Turkey Day and Wanda comes and yells at me and forces me to go back to class...suckage. But she never attempted to kill a cyclist so she's not all bad!

Epic Dreamage. I am impressed with your goal of sailing (or should I saw rowing) around the world. I think you are just a tad bit crazy, but I can respect that. Good luck with getting sponsors and success on your mission. I'll be sure to wait 3 years before scouring the newspaper for any article including water, crazed caucasian, and boat. My friend Fletcher is going to bike from Oregon to South Carolina in 53 days. That's like 80 miles daily or something crazy. Yall should become friends and go on epic quests together!
